Introducing #mondaymuse

Out with #mondayblues and in with #mondaymuse! Mondays are here to stay whether we like it or not. Let's celebrate this chance to refresh by treating the beginning of the week just like the beginning of the year: with a resolution. Every Monday, we’ll write about a woman who inspires us. It’ll be up to you to embody her spirit as creatively as possible in order to meet your own goals throughout the week.

Diana Vreeland, known as the Empress of Fashion, left an indelible mark on the worlds of fashion and visual art through her work with Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Jackie Onassis Kennedy. She took fashion very seriously and turned heads with her sense of style. She was famous for her bold statements such as, “Well first of all, you must arrange to be born in Paris. That really is the best start in life,” or “The bikini is the most important thing since the atom bomb.

More than 50 years ago, Vreeland challenged most people’s assumptions that good taste needs to be spoon fed to consumers when she published the fashion slogan, “This is the year to do it yourself.” Let’s realize this quote as we burst through the door of 2015 and celebrate icon Diana Vreeland, our first #mondaymuse.
